Where is Cole Group vulnerable What should it watch out for Free Essays
Question 2: Where is Cole Group vulnerable? What should it watch out for? As a company with millions of customer throughout 2, 900 stores, The Coles Group certainly be one of the top companies in Australia and New Zealand. However, it has lost its market share to the more enhanced and focused Woolworths company. The loyalty program battleground between two companies seemed more advantages over the Woolworths side since it gained 40% of market share with less on 50% advertising spending. We will write a custom essay sample on Where is Cole Group vulnerable? What should it watch out for? or any similar topic only for you Order Now There are some possible problems the Coles Group has to consider while managing its broad relationship marketing programs. First, their customer may find it very difficult to understand and remember all the complexity of saving points promotion. Second, it may cost even more in advertising and marketing to inform the customer all the benefits they can get from the diverse collection of Coles Group promotions. People are confused to count all the points, discount, actual value they can get from the FlyBuys card. On the other hand, The Woolworths offered the simple, logical program of discounts points via Woolworths Credit Card, so the Woolworths can deliver these loyalty programs to the customer better. Moreover, with millions of members through FlyBuys and Coles Group Source MasterCard, the system may misreport the reward points for the customer and cause some serious customer complaints. My grandma is the reason Iââ¬â¢m a night owl instead of an early bird. Sheââ¬â¢s the reason the light from my room shines through the crack under my door after my family is tucked away, snoring, in bed. I acquired the habit of staying up into the small hours of the morning during my annual two-week visits with my grandparents over the summer when, one night, my grandma introduced me to TV shows about crime, murder, and mystery. I would have never thought that my grandmaââ¬âthe same woman who went to church twice a week, who had found all my tickle spots as a child, and who read romance novels with a passionââ¬âwould enjoy watching investigators solve brutal murders or search for missing children. At first, I was just happy to be able to stay up past midnight; however, I soon began to love crime dramas as much as my grandma and eventually learned all the acronyms: CSI, NCIS, SVU. We will write a custom essay sample on Whodunit? or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page As a result of our shared interest, we grew closer, and our relationship grew stronger. We would spend commercial breaks talking about our crazy family or joking about the ridiculous infomercials and reality shows. I began to understand the attraction these shows held for her: it was reassuring to watch the bad guy get caught. With each new episode she would try to figure out which character had committed the crime before the criminal investigators did, and it wasnââ¬â¢t long before I was trying to identify the offender before she could. In order to win these competitions I had to be aware and suspicious of any new characters that were introduced throughout the show because sometimes even the most seemingly innocent person would be revealed as the killer. Since the lines were scripted, the people were actors, and the crime scenes were staged, I became adept at recognizing the minute details hidden within each show that hinted toward the criminal. This required me to be curious a nd observant, two qualities that have heavily impacted my life. Over the years, when faced with decisions, my curiosity has led me to choose the path that is less familiar to me. My curiosity about new experiences was a major factor in my decision to attend an International Baccalaureate school; when I excitedly tore open the acceptance letter, I thought, ââ¬Å"Well, if I go and donââ¬â¢t like the program, I can always come back to my home school, but if I donââ¬â¢t go Iââ¬â¢ll always be curious about what it would have been like.â⬠Upon my arrival at an IB school, my observant nature combined with my curiosity helped me to remain engaged and eager to learn in every class. Without the late night sessions with my grandma trying to discern which character was guilty, time that I am truly grateful for, these qualities would not be so pronounced a part of my personality. I continue watching these crime dramas at homeââ¬âa habit that appalls my motherââ¬âso I can talk about them on the phone with my grandma and resume watching them with her when I visit each summer. Overall, our shared enjoyment of these shows has allowed our relationship to evolve from that of a child and her care-taking grandma to that of a teenager and her friend, and has allowed my inquisitive personality to flourish with each new crime to solve.
Earthquakes Essay Introduction Example For Students
Earthquakes Essay Introduction EarthquakesDescribe the frequency, origin and distributionof earthquakes at mid-ocean ridges, ocean basins, subduction zones andcontinental shields. Earthquakes are happening almost everydayall over the world. Most of the time earthquakes are not strong enoughto be felt by people, but the shaking caused by an earthquake is recordedby a seismogram. These are located all over the world at different points. Only occasionally will a larger magnitude earthquake strike and cause damageto the region. Around the world there are many faults, depending wherethese faults are plays a major factor in determining where an earthquakewill happen. It is these faults that are the reason for earthquakes. Thetype of fault will also determine how often an earthquake will happen. A mid-ocean ridge occurs under the seaat a divergent boundary. This is where two plates are been pulled apartbecause of tension. This then allows new oceanic crust to be made in thedivergent boundary, as magma rises and eventually sets on the sea floor. If the plates on either side of the divergentboundary continue to spread then the ocean slowly becomes larger in width,a process called seafloor spreading. Mid-ocean ridges are characterisedby a crack like valley at the divergent boundary. This crack like valleyis caused by the tension pulling the plates apart, causing normal faultingto occur a number of times in the divergent boundary. It is these normal faults that are thecause and therefore the origin of earthquakes at divergent boundaries. When the tension pulling apart the two plates becomes too much then theoceanic crust will fracture. This fracturing is caused by many normal faultshappening as shown in the diagram. The normal faults happen because thecrust is been extended. When the tension becomes too much the faults slipvertically. They move a large distance in a relatively short space of time, this is the cause of the earthquakes at divergent boundaries. Divergent boundaries mostly occur on thesea floor and therefore the earthquakes that happen at these boundariesare distributed along the boundary. This means that the distributions ofearthquakes at divergent boundaries are at shallow depths, where the crustis been pulled apart. The earthquakes happen at shallow depths becausethe normal faulting occurs near the sea floor, as a result of the tension. The normal faults are the cause of the earthquakes at these divergent boundaries. The seafloor sees the most intense tectonicactivity in the world, meaning that at the sites of mid-ocean ridges thefrequency of earthquakes is very high. An example of a mid-ocean ridge is theMid-Atlantic ridge, there the seafloor is spreading at a rate of about3cm per year. The frequency of earthquakes at a mid-ocean ridge will dependon how much tension is happening at that point. The more tension meansthe more seafloor spreading, resulting in a higher frequency of earthquakesat a particular mid-ocean ridge. Four major oceans make up most of the waterin the world, The Atlantic (north south), The Pacific, The Antarcticand The Indian Ocean. Within the basins of these oceans earthquakes canhappen without been caused at Mid-ocean ridges, or a Subduction Zones. When the earth?Ã ¦s crust isunder tensional forces the crust will become much thinner than normal,if there is no fault. This means that the crust becomes weaker as it isthinner than normal. This can happen to the oceanic crust in the oceanbasins, but will only cause an earthquake with a hot spot. A hot spot isan abnormal hot rising area of the mantle that supplies the lava for volcanoes. .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .postImageUrl , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:hover , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:visited , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:active { border:0!important; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:active , .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356 .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u673863d80e568142c20b466795e6d356:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Participative management EssayIf at the same time a hot spot is directly below a thinned crust then themagma in the hot spot may hold too much pressure to be held by the thinnerweakened crust. If this is the case then the magma can penetrate the lithosphere, and eventually erupt on the surface. The action of the magma forcing itsway up can trigger earthquakes as it breaks through the crust. When itsbreaks through the crust at the sea bed eventually a volcanic island willbe formed in the middle of the ocean. Due to plate movements this can leadto the creation of mid-plate chains of basaltic volcanic islands, e.g. Hawaii. The creation of these islands around theworld has happened in other places. Frequent large earthquakes do not happenalong the Hawaiian chain, it is an essentially an asesimic ridge. Thereforethe frequency of earthquakes caused in ocean basins by hot spots is verylow. The distributions of these earthquakesthat do occur

Boy Scouts of America vs. Dale Essay Example
Boy Scouts of America vs. Dale Paper Boy Scouts of America et al. v. Dale No. 99-699 Argued April 26, 200- Decided June 28, 2000 In order to explain this court case and why it is so important, it is necessary to look at the history behind it. In July of 1990 James Dale an assistant scoutmaster, and Boy Scout since age eight, was informed that his adult membership to the Boy Scouts of America had been revoked. He was working with Troop 73 in New Jersey in addition to attending Rutgers University. This revocation was a direct result of his involvement with the Rutgers University Lesbian/ Gay alliance, after Dales words of support and representation for this group were published in a newspaper in early June of 1990. The case as it was argued had one main concern. Lawyers for the Scouts told the court that the Boy Scouts, as a private organization like churches or other religious groups, has the constitutional protection to dictate the standards for its leaders and members. But the lawyer for James Dale, the former Scout le ader, says the Boy Scouts is a public accommodation group with large support from governmental agencies, and as such cannot discriminate on the basis of a persons sexual orientation. When the Boy Scouts says We are open to all, all means all, and all means both gay and straight, said Dales lawyer, Evan Wolfson. Dale sued, and after a lengthy legal battle the New Jersey Supreme Court agreed that the Boy Scouts had violated the states anti-discrimination law. After this judgment, the Boy Scouts of America decided to take this case to the US Supreme court on grounds of the majority placed the Scouts First Amendment right to express their moral rejection of homosexuality over New Jerseys Law Against Discrimination. The majority opinion concluded that forcing the Scouts to accept a gay leader placed an unconstitutional burden on the organizations expressive purpose. In its arguments, the Boy Scouts of America claimed that being

England vs. France 16 C essays
England vs. France 16 C essays Account for the fact that by the end of the 17th Century, France was an absolute monarchy and England was a constitutional monarchy. While both the French and English empires were growing overseas, the modern system of great powers was evolving in Europe itself. France became Europes superpower in the 1600s. Louis XIV, the Sun King, served as a model of absolute royal power. England in the 1600s, by contrast, provided an early example of more democratic rule as Parliament limited the power of monarchs. From the 1560s to the 1590s, religious wars between Huguenots (French Protestants) and the Catholic majority tore France apart. Leaders on each side used the war to make themselves look better. Two of the lead families (one from each side) wanted to replace the declining Valois dynasty. The worst of the fighting began on St. Bartholomews Day, August 24, 1572. At a wedding, violence erupted that lead to 3,000 Huguenot deaths. In the coming days, many more were murdered. St. Bartholomews Day stood for the breakdown of France. In 1589, Henry of Navarre inherited the throne and became known as Henry IV. He became Catholic so the French population would support him in his efforts. When he dies in 1610, his nine year old son, Louis XIII inherited the throne. In 1624, Louis made Cardinal Armand Richelieu his chief minister. He spent 18 years strengthening the central government. Richelieu was determined to destroy the power of the nobles and the Huguenots, two groups that would not tolera te royal authority. He defeated their armies and destroyed their castles. He got them back by giving them positions at court or in the army. Richelieu outlawed their armies yet he allowed them to continue to practice their religion. Richelieu picked Cardinal Jules Marazin as his able successor. When Louis XIV inherited the throne, he was able to serve as his chief minister. Soon after Lo ...
